Color with No Regrets
Two Day Workshop-$1100
Are
you looking for color
confidence?
Do you cringe
each time you select a color
for your client hoping it
will look as good on the
walls as it does in the
paint deck? Are you eager to
help your client’s with
their color choices but the
paint deck choices are
overwhelming and you don’t
know where to even begin?
Then this exciting two day
class is for you. You will
learn how to reduce a paint
deck from over 1000 colors
to 30 in 1 minute. Learn how
to hone into your client’s
color likes and dislikes
with a flip of the wrist.
Most importantly, learn how
to market yourself as a
color expert.
The
class was developed for
Professionals by
Professionals.
JoAnne Lenart-Weary,
nationally known interior
decorator and professional
speaker and trainer, and
Cyndie Stefanik, award
winning decorative painter
and professional trainer,
have worked with color all
of their lives. Their
related backgrounds have
meshed to create a class
that demonstrates the art
and science of color. Though
colors themselves may go in
and out of style, color
theory has been around
forever. Once you learn how
to use color effectively,
you can adapt your knowledge
to any decorating story…even
your own wardrobe. A “good
eye” for color can be
subjective, where a “good
color education” is based on
theory, science and
knowledge making it accurate
and non-subjective.
This is not your basic color
theory (although
some of that is included)
but real tools that will
help you in your color
related business. Learn
color secrets and tricks
that you never knew before.
How to crack the code on
paint decks to make them
much more than simply
something to “match” color
with. Former students have
experienced many “A-Ha!”
moments in this class and
have left telling us they
thought they knew what they
were doing until they took
this class. Before they
operated on gut instincts,
now they know the science to
their selections. You will
leave the class with the
same confidence and ability
to identify a color.

THE THEORY OF COLOR

color and where does it come
from? Why does color
matter? Let’s begin with

colors are “in” this
year?
THE SCIENCE OF COLOR
Color success is based on
your understanding of the
color wheel, values and
undertones. Many of you may
“see” color instinctively,
but can you explain why to
your client? What better way
to understand the “why” than
with a variety of hands-on
color labs? We begin with
mixing paint to create a
variety of warm and cool
colors. Did you know that
blue and green can be warm?
If so, then can red be cool?
Yes, Virginia, there is a
cool red. The key is to
train your eye to recognize
them. As you recognize and
understand the critical
impact that undertones play,
you will be on the road to
Color Confidence. This will
result in successful color
consultations with your
clients. Other color labs
will involve fabric, tile,
carpet and paint, the very
mediums you will work with
in your day to day business.
Then brace yourself for an
A-Ha moment when we unveil
the secrets of the Paint
Deck. This is not any old
open your paint deck kind of
stuff…it is the kind of
stuff that will make you
look like a genius to your
clients. Yes, we said
Genius!

Day Two- 8:30 to 5
THE ART OF COLOR
When we first began working
in the design world, it was
all about product driven
design, in other words out
with the old and in with the
new. Today’s client
frequently loves that
eclectic look that means
combining Grandma’s tables
with the new Pottery Barn
sofa and a chair from their
first apartment. Color can
be the common denominator
that will give the space a
fresh new look. Color can
also solve a variety of
decorating challenges both
cosmetic and architectural.
Because color is so
personal, the key is to
understand what makes your
client happy, in other
words, how to create a room
for your client that will
look good and feel good too.
Let’s talk about using color
to problem solve. Just like
dressing your body and using
color to maximize and
minimize your strengths and
weaknesses. Now we are not
advocating painting your
room black to make it look
thinner but color is a
powerful ally when it comes
to solving decorating
challenges.

THE EMOTION OF COLOR
How color affects our
emotions is something you
can read about on a
multitude of websites, books
and magazines. Life is but a
box of crayons and the
colors you choose may impact
your mood according to
multiple studies. Emotional
color theory is fascinating
and intriguing. Let us take
a look at some of the ways
the world is using color to
solve problems. They may be
as unique as chickens
wearing red contacts or
using colored lights to
eradicate severe acne. What
about, “Attention K-Mart
Shoppers! We have a blue
light special in aisle 1!”
Why a blue light? Does color
make us react in different
ways and if so, how can we
use it to improve our lives
and our businesses?
